1. Who we are
Teeny Tiny Mimi (“the app”) is made and published by Xapner (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the limited processing described here.
This policy explains what happens to information when your child uses the app. It applies to the iOS and Android versions and to this website.
2. What we collect
We do not collect personal information about you or your child.
Specifically, the app does not ask for, and we never receive:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses
- Dates of birth or age
- Photographs, video or voice recordings
- Location data
- Contacts, calendar entries or files
- Login details — there is no account to log in to
- Advertising identifiers used to track children across other apps (we do not do that). On Android, Google AdMob may use standard ad delivery identifiers under Google’s child-directed settings — see section 6
We operate no servers or accounts for this app. There is no database of users, because there are no users to record. Lessons, pictures, sounds and the voice are all built into the app itself.
3. What is stored on the device
The app saves a few small settings locally so it behaves the way your child left it. This never leaves the device and we cannot see it:
- Whether sound and background music are on or off
- Language preference
- Drawings saved from the colouring section, kept in the app’s own storage
Deleting the app removes all of it. There is nothing to request from us, because we hold nothing.
4. Third-party services
Optional parts of the app may contact other companies only when used:
- Google AdMob — used on the Android version only, to show limited, child-directed advertisements. The iOS version does not include AdMob or any other advertising SDK. Google Privacy Policy
- YouTube (a Google service) — used only if a grown-up or child opens the video learning section, to play selected Teeny Tiny Mimi videos. Google Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store / Google Play — distribute the app. Purchases are not enabled in the current version. Apple · Google
When a video is played, YouTube may receive standard technical request data needed for playback (for example IP address and device/browser information), under YouTube’s own terms. We do not receive or store that data.
5. Children’s privacy
This app is directed to children and is designed to comply with the United States Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Google Play Families policy, the Apple Kids Category requirements, and the UK and EU rules on children’s data including the Age Appropriate Design Code and Article 8 of the UK/EU GDPR.
In practice that means:
- We collect no personal information from children, so there is nothing for which verifiable parental consent would be required.
- The iOS app has no advertising and no advertising SDK. The Android app may show limited, child-directed ads (see section 6).
- There is no behavioural profiling of your child across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We do not use App Tracking Transparency (ATT) and do not track users across other companies’ apps or websites.
- There is no chat, messaging, user content or social feature of any kind.
- Settings, the rating prompt, feedback and every link that leaves the app sit behind a grown-up gate.
If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, contact support@xapner.com and we will delete anything we hold and confirm once done.
6. Advertising
iOS: The Apple App Store version of Teeny Tiny Mimi does not display advertisements and does not include any third-party advertising SDK (including Google AdMob). We do not request permission to track users across apps or websites (no ATT prompt), and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) for advertising.
Android: The Google Play version may show limited banner and interstitial advertisements served by Google AdMob. Ads are configured as child-directed and for users under the age of consent, with a maximum content rating of G, and we request non-personalised ads. We do not use ads to profile your child across other apps or websites.
AdMob may process technical information needed to deliver ads (for example device and request data) under Google’s policies. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Play’s Families / Designed for Families requirements.
7. Purchases
The app contains no purchases in the current version. There is nothing to buy, no subscription, and no payment details are ever requested or handled. If that changes we will update this page before the feature ships.
8. Video content
Optional video learning plays selected Teeny Tiny Mimi content hosted on YouTube. There is no search, no open recommendations feed and no way inside the app to browse away to unrelated videos. Your child cannot reach videos we did not put on the list.
Playing a video means YouTube receives a playback request from the device and applies its own terms. This is the only part of the app that needs an internet connection for content; lessons, quizzes, drawing and games work offline.
The app itself does not sell or place advertising around these videos.
9. Permissions the app uses
- Internet access — for optional video playback, on Android to load the child-directed ads described in section 6, and for a once-a-day check of a small public file on teenytinymimi.com that says whether a newer version of the app is available. That check sends no identifiers and no information about your child; opening the store to update is behind the grown-up gate. Every lesson works offline.
- Storage — to save drawings your child makes in the colouring section.
- Notifications — optional daily play reminders scheduled on the device only (for example inviting your child to open the app, or to watch Mimi and Arwa on YouTube with a grown-up). There is no push-notification account and no remote marketing server. If permission is refused, reminders stay off.
The app does not request the camera, the microphone, location, contacts, the photo library or the address book.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data, or to object to it being processed.
Because we hold no personal data about you or your child, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or erase. Anything the app has saved is on your device and is removed when the app is deleted.
For data held by Google in connection with YouTube playback, please use Google’s own controls, or contact us and we will point you to the right place.
11. Security and data transfers
Since we do not transmit or store your data, there is no server of ours for it to be exposed on. Information handled by the third parties named above may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States, under their own safeguards.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s store listing. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
